THE ISSUES OKALOOSA COUNTY FACES

Seniors on fixed incomes and working families are having a hard time keeping up with Joe Biden’s inflation. Higher prices for groceries, gas, and basic services are skyrocketing.  The county can’t control inflation, but we can work on the things to make your money work better for you locally.  I’ll always work to balance our county budget without new taxes and fees or higher millage rates, and when possible, hold the line to maintain low taxes and fees across the board.

Homeowners and small business owners are getting hit hard with the rising cost of property insurance. I’ll fight to expand better access to roads and fire safety to minimize risk ratings.  We will also coordinate with the Office of Insurance Regulation to attract more insurance providers to the Okaloosa County market.

Traffic is out of control as growth has overwhelmed our roadways. Driver violence and distracted driving is on the rise.  I will advocate for increased patrols and traffic calming strategies to protect our seniors and children.

Also, the federal government’s failure to secure our border has created a surge of human trafficking and fentanyl along the I-10 corridor. I’ll prioritize law enforcement funding and always put your safety first.

We cannot stop growth entirely, but we must grow smart and not compromise the elements that have made our communities some of the best places to live and rear families. But we can grow smart by not approving chaotic development schemes that are out of sync with our existing infrastructure.

Many of our working families have been priced out of their homes, and consequently, the prices for even rent is becoming unaffordable. We need to reduce wait times for bringing workforce housing online and also defend funding for home ownership programs that give our nurses, firefighters, police, teachers, and other skilled labor access to the communities they serve.
